sources and inspiration
Each design is original and the pieces are hand crafted (with some use of machines for the heavy work of preparing the timber).
Our farm is the source, the background and the inspiration for my work. It is 6000 acres of beautiful bushland, sustainably managed grazing land and historic buildings. It is vibrant, peaceful and abundant.
The timber is sourced from urban tree loppers, salvaged from development sites, recycled, or milled from fallen timber on our farm.
My furniture is the product of its origins. My workshop has been converted from the farm shearing shed . I try to incorporate some of the timber salvaged from the demolished wool bins in each of my pieces. The shed has a great atmosphere and
is a delightful place to work with my shed dog Gloria.
All embellishment and finishing is done by hand. The pieces are all finished with natural oils and wax.
